Last Rites Held For Bill Studley at Oconto, Dec 7

Funeral services were held from the Evangelical United Brethren Church in
Oconto, Nebraska Friday, December 7th, 1951 at 2:00 pm for William Robert
Studley, with the Rev. F. F. Cook in charge, being assisted by the Rev. V. P.
Schroeder.

Music was furnished by C. B. Chumbley, U. S. Sigman, Mrs. Wm. Miller and Mrs.
Clyde Hendrickson with Mrs. James Cornish as pianist.

Honorary pallearers were: Dan Redman, J. V. Divine, B. A. Best, James Richard,
Jesse Edmisten, Wed Hotehm, Ira Brown and George Ferguson.

Pallbearers were: Jake Bomberger, Charles Divine, Dwight Best, Wesley Walter,
Cletus Barrett and Clyde Hendrickson. Interment was made in the Oconto
Cemetery.

Obituary - William Robert Studley known to his many firneds as Bill Studley, was
born to George and Sarah Studley at Cabry, Illinois on August 19, 1879 and
departed this life at the Arnold Hospital in Arnold, Nebraska on December 4th,
1951 at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 14 days.

As a child, he moved with his parents to Kansas and in 1894 moved on a farm east
of Greeley, Nebraska. On February 24, 1904 he was united in marriage to Emily
Bazer at Wolbach, Nebraska. Three daughters were born to this union. In March
of 1921, he with his family moved to Oconto, Nebraska, where he continued his
work as an energetic farmer. For the past six years, Mr. Studley has been
retired, although he continued to live on the farm. He was a member of the
Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed life and made it enjoyable for those around him. He
was active in community affairs and especially liked to see the children and
young people have a good time. Their pleasures were his pleasures. He loved
his family dearly and found the home his chief joy and delight. While his
illness has slowed his pace for several years, yet he enjoyed working and did
his chores until he suffered a stroke just a day before he was taken.

His passing leaves behind, his beloved companion, Mrs. Emily Studley of Oconto,
three daughters, Elsie Ditmar of Oconto, Leona Armstrong of Santa Ana,
California and Velda Studley of Oconto; six brothers, Ben, Ora, George, Charles,
and Edward of Wolbach, Nebraska and Harry of Black Foot, Idaho; one sister, Emma
Caudill of Grand Island, Nebraska; six grandchildren, other relatives and many
friends. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
